Our Story

OhanaFilmWorks LLC., a Hawaii based film production company established in 1990 to produce films on the Pacific Islands. "Ohana" which means family in Hawaiian, was started as an association between Philip Wilson and Phyllis Paul, whose family backgrounds were in the entertainment business for generations. It was a natural process for the siblings to begin their own company.

Philip attended the University of Hawaii. He then worked for many years with Hawaii Public Television (PBS) producing "SPECTRUM HAWAII" along with other culture and art shows.

Phyllis is a graduate of UCLA. Working for Hawaii Pacific University and the The Contemporary Museum in Honolulu increased her love and understanding of the islands inspiring her to form OhanaFilmworks.
